It's that time again! Menu and grocery shopping! These won't post for a couple weeks but it's a teaser of what is coming. Thanks for all the feedback and support. I've received lots of emails and Facebook messages about my menus and I hope it helps others feel inspired to cook. Or even be organized. Menus really help with staying in a budget and not eating out.
I love baseball. Love watching the Ballplayer play behind the plate. Love the interaction with the mothers (well some-you know how sports politics are!) I despise what it does to my menu!!! If summer ever makes an appearance I will cook some more summer appropriate dishes. It's hard to think summer when I'm wearing a sweater and Uggs until 2 pm and then it's only 65 degrees. I was wearing mittens the other night at my sons baseball game. It's July!!
I will try to add directions how to make each dish kid friendly or crock pot friendly. The crock pot is easy. I use mine at least twice a week. The kid friendly part is a bit of a mystery to me. I never cooked kid friendly. I cooked the same dishes when the kids were little as I do now. If they don't like a sauce or gravy I leave it off for them. I've never had much of a problem with veggies as my kids eat just about anything. And if they still don't like dinner then there is always cereal. I've always thought that if you expose your kids to the foods you hope they will eat that eventually they will eat them. This has held true for veggies and whole wheat breads and noodles. I also try to do lots of variety in my menus so the kids don't get too used to the same ole food. This will help them later in life when mom isn't cooking them dinner (which the Ballplayer has declared will NEVER happen) But I will work on this kid friendly request. Promise!!
